Phantom Blade Zero Story and Setting Explained

Spoiler-light setup

Phantom Blade Zero follows Soul, a warrior framed for murdering his master. After a severe heart wound, he has sixty-six days left to live and travels through the Wulin to uncover a conspiracy.

The confirmed world

Steam calls the setting the Phantom World, where hidden passages and mechanisms lead to further secrets. The official description blends traditional Chinese martial arts, mechanical prosthetics, industrial ruins, and modern rock music under the term kungfupunk.

Pangzhen Township is a confirmed location. S-GAME connects it to Pang Town from the earlier Rainblood story, but that does not confirm every connection or plot point in this game.

PlayStation says Soul will meet citizens in need across the Wulin. Completing some side quests may open new story paths and deepen the player's understanding of the world. That wording does not confirm that every side quest changes the main story or that all paths lead to separate endings.

Confirmed character information

The current official pre-order announcement identifies Mo Yuan as the leader of the Bastion of Mo and says Donnie Yen provided his facial and motion capture. For the announced role, see Donnie Yen.
